 John Needham noted the population of Clifton Campville 337, with 172 females and 165 males.

 Haunton population 199, with 100 females and 99 males.

1905    SALE OF THE ESTATE

         Seven pages handwritten lists and notes by John Needham on inhabitants’ homes as shown in the sale catalogue of Clifton Hall estate.  Includes

         comparison with 1881 and an unknown later date.

         16 handwritten (photocopies) sheets detailing land holdings, purchasers, acreage, prices, etc. etc.   

 

         Arising from Sale Catalogue of 1905 John Needham tried to trace origins of “The Green Man”.  Two pages handwritten notes;  two letters (January 1992) with

         Breweries – Allied (October 1991) and Ansells (January 1992) with photocopies of transfers of ownership (1905 – 59).
