Live on the Green
NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!! NEWS FLASH!
Hooray! This great village tradition will go ahead this year after a break
of 2 years! The Country Fair
Organising Committee is working hard to bring this event to you! Yes, I know
- great news!
"Acts" are booked & stalls are being snapped up and Music being rehearsed.
It's been a long wait but it will be worth it - fingers crossed for good
weather this year! So, the 'shout' is going out - if you want to help with
putting-up
& taking down of the marquees, and/or volunteer on the day. Please let Sue
Wadham know -
07976 879020
or email her on suewadham@outlook.com
so she can add you to the merry gang!
COUNTRY FAIR - COFFEE SHOP EXTENSION:
The Village Hall Community Coffee Shop will be running again this year...
Pat Moore and Linda Fletcher will be emailing the 'Star Bakers' to ask if
they are willing to continue the sterling work they started in 2019 by
providing scrumptious cakes for the Country Fair. In the same way, Pat and
Linda
will be asking the volunteers - who ran the "Coffee Shop Extension" last time -
if they are also willing to help out again.
In spite of the horrendous weather there was a real community spirit and it
would be lovely to see that carry on.
If you were not part of the 'Star Bakers' or the 'Volunteer' team and would
like to be, then contact Pat Moore
on amoore49@btinternet.com and
join the Country Fair Gang!
2019 COUNTRY FAIR
What a fantastic day was had by all – despite the “Summer” weather
putting a damper on things!
The Circus Workshop – Code Red - had a “tall order” to entertain the
children – but stilts helped & many giggles ensued!
The ‘Hook a Duck’ stalls didn’t go short of water & the ducks enjoyed
themselves immensely! Paint Balling with The Mercian Regiment was great
fun too. Copious amounts of Food (both hot & cold) & drink (from ‘The
Big Red Bus’) was consumed, together with mouth-watering cakes from the
"Coffee Shop" Cake stall - no diets in evidence that day!!
‘The Red Barrows’ & the BBMF Lancaster will return next year – remember
the date - 13 June 2020. Yep, the committee is thinking about next year
already!
2019 'LIVE ON THE GREEN' MUSIC EVENT
Hosted by Clifton’s very own Rob ‘Beardy’ Light.
The sun eventually popped-out as the stars of the music show arrived!
The audience enthusiastically welcomed and enjoyed - Jimmy Eff, Sheena
Vultaggio (New Country Singer/Songwriter), Inside Information (Acoustic
Classic Rock, Country & Originals) & back by popular demand - Kirsty
Clarke (AKA as Indie Mama).
Watch this space for ‘Live on the Green’ 2020!
